An 8,000 square-foot hangar now serves as a cutting-edge research and development hub for Whisper Aero, supporting its mission to deliver cleaner, quieter, and more efficient electric thrust at scale. This facility has been designated as the national headquarters for the next generation of aerospace propulsion technology.
J&S Construction partnered with the building owner, the City of Crossville, to design and construct this state-of-the-art facility. The project includes a spacious main hangar complemented by ample administrative areas. The hangar is equipped with two HVLS fans, dual exhaust fans, motion-sensor high bay LED lighting, gas-fired heaters, and a large sliding door that seamlessly retracts into a pocket. The entry area features black skid-resistant epoxy flooring, which transitions into a smooth white epoxy finish throughout the remaining interior space.
The office area offers a comfortable and functional environment, including a break room, two private offices, a restroom, storage closet, and IT room. Interior finishes include luxury vinyl tile (LVT) flooring, modern cabinetry, expansive storefront windows, a multi-head mini-split HVAC system, 2×2 ceiling tiles with a sleek black grid system, and solid wood doors.
J&S Construction successfully delivered the project on time and within budget, exceeding expectations for both the building owner and the facility’s innovative new tenant.
