Lexington National Guard Readiness Center Renovations

Tennessee Department of General Services contracted J&S Construction to complete renovations to the Lexington National Guard Readiness Center, located at 690 Airways Drive in Lexington, Tenn.

The scope of work for this 120-day contract included a complete layover of a failed 16,800 square-foot EPDM (rubber membrane) roof system, replacement of the existing domestic boiler with a new bank of instantaneous water heaters, and needed repairs to interior/exterior finishes, masonry and drainage.

Additional modifications to the facility included structural steel roof framing to support new additional roof loads, reworking an existing downspout to allow proper drainage through an existing concrete slab, as well as making enhancements to the building’s existing front vestibule by increasing insulation to minimize thermal energy losses.

“J&S Construction was excited to once again work with the Tennessee Department of Military and to play a small role in helping our state’s bravest and best by improving this facility they use to maintain a state of readiness,” said Jack Stites, J&S Construction CEO.
