Natchitoches National Wildlife Refuge
The Natchitoches National Wildlife Refuge was having continuous erosion problems down stream of its fish rearing ponds that were primarily located at the river’s edge. Another issue being faced by the Refuge included the collapse of a concrete reinforced drain pipe which was located under a county road and existing levee.
J&S designed and installed a new drainage system that included new and reworked manholes, reworked concrete reinforced drainage lines, and the installation of rip rap erosion control on the river bank and in the river bed.
Despite a large amount of rain that occurred during construction, J&S Construction completed this four-month project two months ahead of schedule and 20 percent under budget.
