J&S Construction was hired by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife, Cameron Parish Revitalization because of our ability to self perform large parts of the contract along with our vast experience in fast track design-build projects.
This 42,612 square-foot project included design-build complexes consisting of maintenance buildings, storage facility, boat storage, visitor centers, bunk house, fire hall, renovation of existing office building and new office building.
The Cameron Parish Revitalization project included four sites covering two states: Cameron Prairie Headquarters (Bell City, La.), Sabine Refuge Office (Hackberry, La.), Natchitoches Wildlife Refuge (Natchitoches, Miss.) and Lacassine National Wildlife Refuge (Mulberry, La.)
J&S provided overall management, scheduling and coordination of the overall project design and construction. Additionally, J&S, being PRIME, performed 75 percent of this contract work with its forces, including steel erection, site utilities and site layout.
J&S was awarded the $9 million contract in June 2006, with the completion date being scheduled for March 2009.
