First, we have 105 employees and perform most of our work within 100 miles of our office. We are one of the oldest and largest construction companies between Nashville and Knoxville in Tennessee; but not as large as some of the big city firms that perform hard bid work. I say this not as an apology, but to let you know our strategic plan is not to be the biggest, just for the sake of being the biggest. We do want to be the best. We have a repeat client rate of over 75% each year and 99.6% of our clients say they will use us on their next project.

Second, we have a very close knit group of professionals. Should you join our firm, it would be much like owning your own business, but without the headaches of ownership. Our position of VP of Architecture will be responsible for following up on leads, identifying client needs and pricing those needs using our Timberline Software. You will spend approximately 35% of your time prospecting and visiting with existing clients, 20% of your time estimating, 30% of your time in preparing and giving Power Point presentations and 15% of your time visiting job sites and coordinating with field personnel. Don’t let the estimating scare you. We use Timberline Estimating and are able to more than adequately train you for success. We present our finding to the clients by means of a presentation which is tailored to the project and the client. Although you might visit jobsites with the client and with our field personnel, you would not be expected, or required, to project manage individual projects. We use Microsoft products in our office and have a very high tech environment. We also have a completely smoke free environment which adds to the quality of the workplace.

Third, all of our professionals are on a base plus bonus compensation package. That means you will be compensated in direct proportion to the profits you bring to the company. That can create good results in that you are able to earn a very substantial income with hard work and innovation. While the position may be different from the stereotypical architect position, it is very satisfying and can pay extremely well. The typical VP of Architecture working approximately 50 hours per week and selling $2,500,000.00 at our average gross margin will achieve a six figure income annually, exclusive of profit sharing, bonuses and benefits. It is nearly like having your own business without the hassles of being in business. We provide support, both inside the office and outside the office to help insure your success.

Fourth, we are looking for individuals with strong family values and integrity. Our family has been in the construction business in Cookeville since 1933.
